Using DraftTrail responsibly

Basic workflow

1. Create an assignment.
2. Add instructions and student identity fields.
3. Share the assignment link with students.
4. Tell students to save their return code.
5. Review submissions, timelines, paste events, and snapshots.

Suggested classroom language

For this assignment, you will write in DraftTrail. It records your draft history, timestamps, autosaves, submissions, and paste activity so I can review your writing process. It does not give an AI score. Save your return code so you can come back later.

Interpreting paste events

A paste event does not automatically mean cheating. Students may paste quotes, move paragraphs, use notes, or use accessibility tools. Use the timeline as a conversation starter.
